Are you interested in learning about the current challenges in health philanthropy and social justice? Are you working to address power dynamics and foster authentic community engagement in your initiatives? Join us for this special virtual series and uncover how we can collectively move towards an inclusive approach to health philanthropy.
This four-part virtual learning series is hosted by Partners for Advancing Health Equity (P4HE Collaborative), a research learning collaborative, and Grantmakers In Health, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, educational organization dedicated to helping foundations and corporate giving programs improve the health of all people.
Throughout the workshop series, we will delve into the topic of trust-based philanthropy and examine internal and external factors that influence how communities and health philanthropy collaborate with each other. The workshop series will provide actionable steps that health philanthropy can take to meaningfully involve communities and share power more effectively. Community engagement isn’t just about checking boxes—it is about fostering real, authentic partnerships that can drive lasting change.
Presenters for Workshop 1:
During our first workshop, Jill Miller, President and CEO of bi3 Fund, and Erin Switalski, Program Director at Headwaters Foundation will take a deep dive into the practice of trust-based philanthropy. They will speak to how this approach aligns with their organizational values, how they have built trust with communities, and highlight the successes and challenges they experienced along the way.
