The Burke Foundation’s 2025 Impact Report describes how years of philanthropic investment, evidence-building, and collaboration among nonprofits, state agencies, community leaders, and fellow funders are expanding maternal and early childhood health programs across New Jersey. In 2025, relationship-based programs supported by the foundation reached more than 13,600 families, more than double the number reached two years earlier.
The report highlights how Family Connects NJ grew from a local pilot into a universal newborn home visiting program expanding statewide, how community doulas are improving birth outcomes, and how HealthySteps specialists are bringing child development and behavioral health support directly into pediatric care. Together with public and philanthropic funders, the foundation has helped mobilize $93.1 million since 2017 to support and expand this work.
