Montana Healthcare Foundation created two new reports that look at Medicaid’s impact on the health and economy. The first is a report by Manatt Health, which provides an in-depth analysis of Montana’s Medicaid program, its beneficiaries and costs, and how it affects the health system and health outcomes of Montanans. The second report is by Montana economist Bryce Ward and looks at the economic impact of Medicaid expansion.
Montana’s Medicaid program provides health insurance coverage for 265,000 of the state’s most vulnerable citizens. It serves as a funding source that helps communities build and sustain health services, including primary, specialty, and dental care; mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment; and hospital and emergency care. It is one of the most important resources for improving the health of Montanans.
