Requests for Proposals
New York State Health Foundation (New York)
The New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) announced an upcoming Request for Proposals (RFP) to support hospitals in New York State in adopting OpenNotes. OpenNotes is a national movement to give patients access to their own visit notes written by their doctors, nurses, or other clinicians. Established in 2010 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, OpenNotes spurs real patient engagement by giving patients and their caregivers access to the clinical notes written by health care providers. When patients have such access, they better remember what was discussed during the visit and are more likely to take medications as prescribed and follow the recommended treatment plan. In an effort to spread the use of OpenNotes to hospitals throughout New York State, NYSHealth will issue an RFP on April 24, 2017. Proposals will be due on June 8, 2017. This RFP will be open to any hospital in New York State interested in implementing OpenNotes. Through this RFP, awards of $100,000 will be granted to up to 10 hospitals. To learn more and receive a notice when it opens, please email your interest or questions to OpenNotesRFP@NYSHealth.org.
More information will be available at Grant Seekers/Open RFPs when it opens on April 24.
