Nominations for the Andy Hyman and Terrance Keenan awards close on Friday, December 15th, 2023
WASHINGTON, DC, October 3, 2022—Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is thrilled to announce the call for nominations for the 2024 Andy Hyman Award for Advocacy and Terrance Keenan Leadership Award in Health Philanthropy. Nominations for each award may be submitted online before Friday, December 15, 2023.
First awarded by GIH in 1993, the Terrance Keenan Leadership Award honors an innovative grantmaker who has deployed philanthropic resources to effectively address today’s most pressing health issues. Award recipients’ work should demonstrate creative responsiveness to sustainably improve the health of people in their communities, particularly those facing inequitable health disparities.
Since 2017, the Andy Hyman Award for Advocacy has recognized a nonprofit or public sector champion who embodies a commitment to principled action and leadership to advance social change. Award recipients should be outstanding grantees who lead progress in policy and practice, health advocacy, and social justice despite challenging political environments.
Award winners will be announced in March 2024, and recipients will be presented with the awards and honorariums at the 2024 GIH Annual Conference on Health Philanthropy on June 4 – 6, 2024 in Portland, Oregon.
