Seeking affordability and transparency, five states have been selected to join the Peterson-Milbank Program for Sustainable Health Care Costs. Connecticut, Oregon, Nevada, New Jersey, and Washington will receive technical assistance as they implement statewide health care cost growth targets. In a new blog post, the Milbank Memorial Fund and the Peterson Center on Healthcare describe how the initiative will support state-led activities that engage insurers, health providers, and employers in measuring total health care costs and selecting cost growth target. The end-goal is data-driven systemwide action to address cost growth drivers and improve health care performance.
