Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) Foundation announced its Healthy Communities 2017 funding opportunity: Health Equity in Action. Qualified nonprofits will be invited to apply for up to $100,000 each year for up to two years to support projects that advance health equity and promote systems change related to the social and economic factors that drive health: education, income, employment, community safety, and family and social support. A total of $1 million will be awarded by the foundation in June. Please see the full announcement and learn about the grant details on its website. The Blue Cross Foundation is also partnering with the Management Improvement Fund (MIF) to offer capacity building grants to nonprofits across Minnesota. Qualified nonprofits may apply for grants to support projects that strengthen organizations through strategic planning, program evaluation, governance, racial equity, financial planning, and more. Interested nonprofits should apply through the MIF website. While applications are accepted throughout the year, grants are only reviewed in May and November.
