The Maine Health Access Foundation released a newly completed analysis by Manatt Health of the state budget impact of Medicaid expansion in Maine. The analysis shows potential budget savings and revenue of $25.6 million, resulting in a potential annual net state cost of expansion at $61.7 million by 2021. The analysis, funded by the Maine Health Access Foundation, builds on a 2015 report of the state budget impact of expansion. The new analysis will help inform the work of Maine’s policymakers as they implement the voter-approved Medicaid expansion.
