A new report, “Progress Towards Vitality: A 10-Year Retrospective Analysis of Systems Focused Efforts to Improve Maternal Health in Georgia,” analyzes a subset of recommendations put forward by the Georgia Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) and the Georgia House Study Committee on Maternal Mortality to improve maternal mental health in the state.

A new comprehensive white paper and collection of use cases, co-authored by CareQuest Institute for Oral Health and 19 academic institutions, explores interprofessional education (IPE) in health care, with a particular focus on oral health. Statement from Cara V. James in Philanthropy Women About Consequences of New Administration’s Actions
A statement from Grantmakers In Health (GIH) President and CEO Cara V. James was republished in an article in Philanthropy Women on May 15, 2025, titled “Health Care Donors Urged to Take a Stand Amidst Ongoing Funding Cuts.” The statement was originally published by GIH to mark the first 100 days of the new administration, denouncing the harmful policies, devastating funding cuts, and threats to democracy that have taken place in that time. The editor included an editor’s note that Dr. James’ statement struck a deep chord and urged funders to step up to mitigate the damage of the administration’s extreme and unprecedented withdrawal of funding for health.

This infographic summarizes the responses to a Grantmakers In Health funder poll, conducted October 2022, on how philanthropy is supporting health care transformation efforts, especially those concerned with improving quality of life, coordinating complex care, and taking patient preferences into account.
The Impact of COVID-19 on Aging and Older Adults Grantmaking Survey
To better understand how philanthropy has responded to these challenges over the course of the pandemic, Grantmakers In Health and Grantmakers In Aging launched a joint survey in November 2021 to learn how health and aging funders are addressing COVID-19 related needs among older adult populations and potential long-term impacts on future grantmaking.
