Due to recent COVID-19 developments, Grantmakers In Health (GIH) has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Annual Conference on Health Philanthropy, scheduled for June 17-19 in Minneapolis.
Conference registrants will receive an email outlining options to either donate their registration or processing fee to GIH or obtain a full refund. GIH has contacted the Hilton Minneapolis to cancel all reservations made under the conference room block.
In this unprecedented time, partnership is more essential to philanthropy than it has ever been, and we know that many of you have already come together to identify needs, coordinate efforts, and maximize the impact of your COVID-19 responses in your community. GIH remains committed to providing funders with meaningful opportunities to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate as we enter an uncertain new reality. In the coming weeks, you will hear more from GIH on how we plan to repackage many of our rich annual conference offerings and develop virtual opportunities for funders to learn and connect across established and emerging health issues, including COVID-19.
If you have not already done so, please bookmark GIH’s COVID-19 page, which is updated daily to reflect the tools, webinars, and news most relevant to health philanthropy. As the effects of the pandemic continue to unfold, you can also visit this page to learn more about how foundations are reimagining their operations and grantmaking to meet short- and long-term community needs.
We at GIH are grateful for the flexibility, support, and encouragement this community has shown us over the past few weeks. As the resources and capacity of our sector continue to be tested like never before, we look forward to providing you with timely, relevant programming and strategic counsel and guidance.
