Program Staff

The Cameron Foundation, a philanthropic organization, is seeking a Program Officer to review, evaluate, and make funding recommendations for grant requests as well as lead other special projects as needed. This role involves strategy development, partnership cultivation and capacity building, with a focus on assessing grants targeted to address the social drivers of health (health/healthcare, education, human services, housing, workforce development and economic stability). The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of how social, economic and environmental factors influence community health.

The Grants Coordinator will be responsible for tracking, reporting, and administrative follow-up on grants as well as looking for funding opportunities and assisting with application processes.

The Program Officer is responsible for collaboratively contributing to program development by initiating, curating, developing, stewarding, and evaluating a portfolio of grants and initiatives aimed to advance health in Texas. From concept development and capacity building approaches to resourcing and stewardship of the grant lifecycle, the Program Officer operates in partnership with grantee organizations to cultivate and guide our work that positively impacts people and communities.

The senior communications officer is responsible for working to further the Foundation’s vision and objectives using strategic communications. Core responsibilities include (1) working collaboratively with others to develop, implement, and manage communications for, and about, the Foundation’s initiatives to transform health in our lifetime and pave the way, together, to a future where health is for everyone; (2) initiating, interpreting, and synthesizing communications research to help the Foundation develop messaging that engages and activates audiences across political, ideological, and cultural perspectives; and (3) leading and managing teams of communications professionals, including external firms and contractors, to develop communications plans and budgets to help amplify the voice of the Foundation and our grantees and partners to achieve desired objectives. 

The Communications Officer, will develop and execute communications strategies and products in support of the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Program and its grantees and partners. This work includes developing print and digital products for multiple audiences, including researchers, professionals, advocates, policymakers, health care providers, and families, as well as supporting virtual and in-person events.

In this role, you will join our dedicated staff in a collegial atmosphere and work with grantees and partners to advance and strengthen primary care across New York State.

The Advocacy Manager will work in collaboration with the Foundation team to help guide the Foundation’s advocacy strategy and will interface with stakeholders that are advocating equitable health outcomes.  The Advocacy Manager will guide the development of the foundation’s annual Advocacy Plan. The Foundation works to educate and inform policymakers and supports those advocating for health equity through policy change and systems innovations that can improve health outcomes.
